We experience uncertainties as to where our world and our personal lives are heading. We are confronting the Coronavirus pandemic, which seems to be lingering for a while. Cases all over the world are rising each day. On top of this health scare, we also have seen the fresh outbreak of injustice, divisiveness, and animosity.
Let us recognize that amid all the uncertainties, there is love surrounding and guiding us. Let us not allow fear to overwhelm us. As we work for reform and healing, our God invites us to entrust ourselves into His care, confident that He will not abandon us.
Let us spend time cultivating peace in our ways, humble as it may be, as our contribution to easing the pains of the distressful times we are passing through.
Praying the serenity prayer is a good place to start:
God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.
Living one day at a time;
enjoying one moment at a time;
accepting hardships as the pathway to peace;
taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world
as it is, not as I would have it;
trusting that He will make all things right
if I surrender to His Will;
that I may be reasonably happy in this life
and supremely happy with Him
forever in the next.
